AUTHOR STARTER PACKAGE
Who this is for:
- Authors who are getting stuck with a first book attempt
- Authors who need help organizing the order of their book contents
- Authors seeking guidance on how to write with their audience in mind
What this includes:
- A Table of Contents review with strategic recommendations
- Edits and comments on up to 10 pages of book content (your choosing)
- One 30-minute Zoom consultation to discuss recommendations
Length of program:
- One week
PACKAGE #1: Strategic direction assist
Who this is for:
- Authors with too much to say
- Authors with too little to say
- Authors struggling with how to organize their book
What this includes:
- Two 30-minute Zoom consultations focused on:
- Review of existing written content (up to twenty pages)
- Strategic suggestions for content and/or organization
- Access to editor via email with questions or feedback requests
Length of program:
- Two-week period of the author’s choosing
PACKAGE #2: Early book intervention support
Who this is for:
- Authors with an existing manuscript or partially completed book
What this includes:
- Review of existing copy (up to three chapters or 7500 words)
- Written strategic recommendations
- Commentary on what works well
- Ideas for author to consider for improvement
- Track changes comments in the manuscript
Length of program:
- Two 30-minute Zoom consultations
- Two-week period of author’s choosing
- Unlimited (within reason) email exchanges for two weeks after recommendations are submitted
$100 discount on next contract if author chooses additional editing support
PACKAGE #3: Book review, strategic recommendations, and rough outline for Table of Contents
Who this is for:
- Authors who have a rough manuscript
- Authors concerned with flow issues
- Authors who want feedback on possible content holes
- Authors who wonder if portions of the text should be eliminated because they don’t fit
What this includes:
- Three 30-minute Zoom meetings to discuss objectives and go over recommendations
- Strategic overview of what’s working and what’s not
- Development (or reorganization) of a rough table of contents
- Note: This does not include editing services
Length of program:
Three-week period of the author’s choosing
- $250 discount on book editing if author chooses BookConductors for this additional service
PACKAGE #4: Book content strategist & mentor
Who this is for:
- Current or want-to-be author experiencing writer’s block
- Authors having trouble determining what to include as book content
- Authors challenged with an organizational strategy for the book
- Authors with a book contract who are not receiving needed support from their publisher
What this includes:
- Strategic consulting support on book content and flow
- Review and discussion of ideal reader/audience
- Review and discussion of book objectives
- Help creating a working table of contents (TOC)
- Mentoring and/or editing through three chapters (can be sequential or random)
- Ideas for how to make your writing more effective
- Accountable check ins
Length of program:
- Six 30-minute strategy sessions by phone or Zoom (weekly – same time and day)
- Email support as needed
- Eight-week duration (additional weekly fee for longer arrangements)
PACKAGE #5: Developmental Editing
Who this is for:
- Authors who have completed a manuscript and are planning on self-publishing
- Authors who intend to use their book as a marketing tool
- Authors who know their book can be better but need insight from a seasoned pro
- Authors focused on presenting material in way that’s easy for readers to understand
What this includes:
- Discussion about ideal reader and book objectives
- A word-by-word review of existing content with stated audience in mind
- Comments on flow issues, possible missing material, word choice, redundancies and other items that may be detracting from the book’s intended message
- Possible table of contents revision suggestions and associated chapter reordering
- Zoom meetings as needed
- Final read and edit of manuscript after author has finished changes (this is not a proofread – author should plan on engaging another for this job)
Length of program:
- Generally four weeks, dependent author response time to questions and turn-around time on edit review and final revisions
PACKAGE #6: Book Ghostwriting
Who this is for:
- Would-be authors who know they have a book in them but can’t seem to get it out
- Busy professionals who have great ideas or life experiences they want to share
What this includes:
- Brief weekly interviews to capture your voice as well as your chosen content
- Exploration of hidden gems you may not have considered
- Material is organized and written by a professional with decades of book writing and interviewing experience
- Editing services post initial rough draft (a proofreader should be engaged for final review)
- Final read after all suggested changes are reviewed & implemented
Length of program:
- Generally 3 months, but this can vary depending on length of book and timeliness of author responses
